The Indianola City Council met in regular session Monday. The council approved the first reading of an ordinance for establishing a reduced school speed zone on East 2nd Avenue, changing the speed limit from 45mph to 30mph in a school speed zone during school hours. The change will include flashing school zone signs, however the speed limit change is pending Iowa Department of Transportation approval.

The board approved appointments to the Indianola Public Arts Commission, a rezoning request, the homebase Iowa Application, and a plat of survey request before going into closed session to discuss personnel.
