After a move to Oskaloosa due to severe weather flooding the field at Pella High School, the No. 9 in 3A Dutch baseball team advanced to the round of 16 in the 3A baseball playoffs, defeating Winterset 10-7, as heard live on 92.1 KRLS.

Pella opened the festivities with the game’s first seven runs combined in the bottom of the 1st and 2nd innings as the offense found the stride it had been missing for several games. The Huskies countered with multiple-run innings in the 3rd and 4th to close the gap to 7-5. The Dutch answered in the bottom of the 4th with three additional runs, before Winterset answered again with a two-run 6th. Isaiah Kettler was able to close the door with three strikeouts in the 7th to earn a save.

Teagan Hoekstra, Lake Cowman, and Lucas Jablonski each had three runs batted in for the Dutch. Pella improves to 26-9 and travels to No. 10 Grinnell for the Substate Final on Wednesday. Coverage begins at 6:30 on 92.1 KRLS.
