The Indianola City Council approved the first consideration of a reduction in speed zone on Hwy 92 near the Indianola High School and Middle School crossing, from 45mph to 30mph with flashing speed zones during school hours.
City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News the city wanted to be good partners with the school district during their construction period and beyond and wanted to honor this request, and the approval by the city council is just one step in the process as it will still need approval by the Iowa Department of Transportation.
