A big reason for the success of the Indianola baseball team this past season was their ability to get extra bases not only on hits to the field but in stolen bases. The Indians had the fourth most stolen bases in all of class 4A, and were only caught stealing 11 times over the course of the season. Head Coach Nathan Carlin said the team was very athletic this year which helped, but also were smart baserunners who did a great job of reading pitchers and sliding. The Indians bring back George Blake who had 17 swipes, Andrew DeWall with 14, Asher Brueck with 13, and Ryker Burgin who had 12, with the quartet only caught four times combined.
