The Knoxville Police Department is reminding citizens of city code when it comes to their lawns.

City code states that property owners are required to maintain their lawns which includes trimming weeds and tall grass. In developed residential, commercial and industrial zoned areas, weeds and grass must be kept below eight inches in height. For undeveloped residential, commercial and industrial zoned districts, maximum height is 12 inches. If citizens do not abide by this they may receive a $107 fine. The department also is reminding the community to not put furniture or trash out in your yard as the city will have to send a trash service to pick it up and you will be issued a fine.

If you have any questions or want to report a nuisance you can call the Knoxville Police Department.
