Spire Drink Co. in Knoxville is holding a Marion County Cookie Competition on Saturday.

This is an event sponsored by Hy-Vee to see which cookie will be crowned as tastiest cookie in the entire county. The competition will be from 11:00 am- 2:00 pm and it is $5 to enter cookies in the competition. It is also $5 to vote and anyone can come in and participate with two votes and a glass of milk. Those with entries into the competition must live in Marion County, no frosting is allowed, and entries must have 100 pieces with toothpicks in them. First, second, and third place will receive Hy-Vee gift cards as prizes. Spire Co-Owner Nicholas Lirio hopes the community can gather together for this event.

“We really want to taste really good cookies. We want to bring people together. We want to have good cookies, and we enjoy doing these things. In a time where we can be divided by all sorts of things, why not gather around something as simple as a cookie, and we like that.”

All entries must be submitted by 11:00 am Saturday.
