A retirement celebration will be held this week for Marion County Conservation Director Steve Edwards.

The open house event will be held at Marion County Public Health on Friday from 2:00-4:00 pm. This is a chance to honor Edwards, who has served as county Conservation Director for the last 44 years. Edwards last day of work will also be on Friday, before his son Cale takes over. Steve says he has been blessed to have such a good staff all of these years.

“I can’t thank the staff that I’ve had, and the Marion County Conservation Board members that I’ve had, and the Board of Supervisors that I’ve had over the years for all their support. You’re as good as your staff is and I’ve been blessed to have a really good staff. To have Cale come down and take over is incredibly exciting and we’re looking forward to having him coming, and I know he is really looking forward to being here.”

The event will be held in the training room at public health.
