Four area high schools begin their pursuit of a State Championship today, competing at the 2024 State Baseball and Softball tournaments in Cedar Rapids, Fort Dodge, and Carroll.
Earning the three seeding in the Class 4A State Softball tournament, Norwalk will take on sixth-seeded North Scott in the quarterfinals. Coverage of the Warriors’ contest against the Lancers at Harlan and Hazel Rogers Sports Complex begins at 2:45 pm on 94.3 KNIA and on the KNIA3 stream.
The fifth-seeded Pella baseball team begin their tournament journey later today, taking on fourth-seeded Bishop Heelan in the Class 3A quarterfinals. Coverage from Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids begins at 4:30 pm on 92.1 KRLS.
The PCM softball team earned the seven seed in the school’s first ever Class 3A State Softball tournament appearance and will square off with second-seeded Williamsburg in the quarterfinals tonight. Coverage from Harlan and Hazel Rogers Sports Complex begins at 6:45 pm on the KRLS3 stream and also on 92.1 KRLS after the conclusion of the Pella baseball game.
The fifth-seeded Pleasantville baseball team begins their Class 2A State Tournament run on Tuesday, facing fourth-seeded Chariton in the quarterfinals at Merchants Park in Carroll. Pregame coverage of the Trojans’ matchup with the Chargers starts at 1:15 pm on 95.3 KNIA.
