After months of preparation, RAGBRAI will officially be rolling into Knoxville today.
The riders will be making the 75 mile ride from Winterset over to the Sprint Car Capital of the World. The city anticipates riders to be arriving as early as noon today. Riders will be coming up from the south on Highway 14 and a majority of them will be staying at the main campground located near the Knoxville Rec Center and Knoxville High School. There will be eight total campgrounds throughout the city with shuttles taking people from the campgrounds to the downtown area.
The downtown Knoxville area will be filled with vendors along with the concert stage. Musical entertainment will start at 1:00 pm and vendors will start setting up as early as 6:00 am. The downtown square along with roughly two blocks in each direction will be closed starting at 6:00 am. While driving anywhere in town you should always watch for bicycles. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS radio for updates all day during the event.
