The end of one of Pella’s best ever softball players’ careers will come this Saturday in the Iowa Girls Coaches Association Senior All-Star games.

Ava Curry officially wrapped up her stellar five-year varsity career in a regional final loss to Norwalk, but will have a chance to play one more time before heading to Drake University.

Curry appeared in 151 games and started 141 for the Dutch, collecting 201 hits — 84 of which went for extra bases, including 18 home runs. Her career .426 average came with 125 runs scored and 99 runs batted in, with 53 stolen bases. Ava was selected to the 2022 and 2023 All-State teams, which included first team honors last summer.

The IGCA All-Star series will take place this Saturday in Waukee. Curry will be on the Red Team along with Little Hawkeye Conference opponent Jaylynn Brandt of Norwalk.
