The first phase of the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics Emergency Department renovation and expansion is now complete.

Emergency department patients are now being greeted in the new admitting and waiting area. The emergency department expansion and renovation will include construction of a new waiting/reception area, two trauma bays, three private treatment rooms, two mental health rooms, workspace for staff, and additional storage for equipment and supplies. The ER project will be done in phases, and the phase that was just completed started in March. 

The next phase will focus on the expansion of the trauma bays, private treatment rooms, and staff support space and is expected to be completed in December
