The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association is set to hold their 48th annual All-Star Series in Pella next week.

The event features four teams made up of 2024 graduates who were considered among the best high school baseball players in Iowa. Dave Rock with the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association says that seniors selected to play in the series are divided into four teams based on geography and their school’s enrollment.

“For the large schools, we take all the 4A schools and then the top 32 BEDs documented 3A schools. So, those are all the schools that are in the large schools. The small schools is the lowest 32 of 3A and then all the 2A and 1A schools. So, we bring them all together and the coaches select these kids.”

Local participants in this year’s series include Indianola’s Luke Rockhold and Norwalk’s CJ Davis on the Large School West team, and Lynnville Sully’s Corder Noun Harder and head coach Scott Alberts on the Small School East team. Also participating in the All-Star Series in Pella, is Central College alum and current North Polk head coach Wyatt Zoske leading the Small School West team.
