We begin our Top Ten countdown of sports moments for Knoxville during basketball season on January 30th in Albia. The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad was struggling to make shots against Albia, and like usual the Lady Dees were slowing the game down and holding the score in the 40s. After scoring just two points in the 1st half, Panthers’ Guard Hannah Dunkin started heating up and made two critical three point shots in the 4th quarter. The first one gave the Panthers a three point lead, the second one was essentially the dagger.

Knoxville would go on to win 42-37. Dunkin would end up being the leading scorer on the season at 15.9 points per game. She is destined to appear in next year’s top ten as Dunkin is less than 200 points away from joining the 1,000 point club at Knoxville. The Panthers would go on to finish 11-11 and finish 10-4 in the South Central Conference.
