A relentless day of severe weather has continued across south central Iowa. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team has been activated on four separate occasions for more than a dozen severe thunderstorm warnings in Marion and Warren Counties, with several updates from Weatherology meteorologists. In the afternoon, golf ball sized hail was reported west of Monroe.
Heavy rain between 4-6″ has fallen since Sunday evening across the region, prompting a flood watch until Wednesday mrning and a flash flood warning in northeastern Marion County.
Additional chances for severe weather are in the forecast overnight into early Wednesday morning. This could cause flash flooding, as well as additional chances for hail and damaging winds.
