Claiming the number nine spot for PCM top sports stories of the 2023-2024 school year is senior basketball player Jake Wendt breaking the school record for rebounds in a game. 

Wendt broke the record against Greene County on January 29th where he recorded 21 rebounds. The Mustangs defeated the Rams in that game 62-57. Wendt moved into fourth all time for rebounds in PCM school history as he had 240 rebounds in his senior season which was first in the conference by a large margin. Wendt started all 23 games for the Mustangs last season and also averaged 12.2 points per game and 3.1 assists per game. Wendt earned first team all-conference honors and graduated this past spring. He will attend Iowa State University this fall.
