The #9 spot on the countdown of the top 10 moments at Pella Christian high school this past school year takes us back to Monday, February 5th, when the Pella Christian girls basketball team overcame a slow start to upset Class 3A #13 ranked Chariton 66-60.

The Eagles struggled out of the gate, falling behind 18-2 at the 3:15 mark of the first quarter. Following a timeout from head coach Brenden Foughty, Pella Christian began to claw their way back into the game, cutting the deficit to 24-14 at the end of the period. The Eagles continued to build on their momentum at the end of the first, outscoring Chariton 21-9 in the second quarter to take a 35-33 advantage at the break. 

Out of halftime, Pella Christian kept their foot on the gas, outscoring the Chargers 31-27 in the second half to pick up the six-point upset win. Sisters Faith and Rachel Kacmarynski combined for 38 points in the victory, with Faith leading the way with 21 points and Rachel recording 17. Chloe Snyder also reached double-figures, scoring 11 points in the win. 

The Eagles went on to finish the season with a 10-13 overall record.
