Due to hail damage that occurred Tuesday afternoon and early Wednesday morning, the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge will be closed until further notice. All public programs are cancelled as a result of the closure, including this Saturday’s annual free Bison Day family event at the visitor center. The walking trails and five-mile wildlife drive that enters the bison and elk enclosure remain open from sunrise to sunset daily.
