Counting down the top 10 moments of the 2023-24 school year for Indianola High School with #7.
The Indianola girls golf team swept all three of the Little Hawkeye Conference meets this past season to claim a Little Hawkeye Conference championship for the second straight year, with Camryn Overton winning the individual conference title.
Indianola won by 22 strokes with a 344 in the first meet at Norwalk with Overton getting the meet championship carding an 81, then squeaked by with a one-shot victory over Norwalk in the second meet with a 368 with Overton again carding an 81 for meet medalist honors, setting up the third meet hosted at the Indianola Golf and Country Club.
The Indians shot a 346 to win by 10 strokes, with Overton again dominating the competition carding a 76 to win by seven shots.
Overton said the young team has grown up a lot over the season and will continue to grow in the future.
“I think the last three years have been definitely a learning curve, lots of new friendships and bonds especially with even coaches or having seniors leave and new people come in. I think this year has shown a lot of our growth and improvement throughout the season, and I’m also excited to see what we can do next year.”
The Indians bring back their entire varsity roster for next season.
