The Pella Wellness Consortium will host two events as part of their wellness series titled “Managing Stress – Living Your Best Life” in September and October.
The first event will be a sports nutrition presentation at the Van Emmerik Theatre in the Maytag Student Center at Central College on Thursday, September 5th at 7 pm. As part of the presentation, Professor Sara Shuger Fox will share her expertise on optimal sports performance. The presentation is geared towards middle school, high school, and college athletes, but all residents are encouraged to attend. The second event will be yoga in the Kuyper Dance Studio at Central College on Tuesday, October 8th at 7 pm. Instructor Allie Thomas will lead the session and yoga mats will be provided, but participants may bring their own. A waiver signature at the door and participant RSVP is required, and a link to register for the session can be found here. Central College Assistant Dean of Students Kristi Leonard says that the wellness series is designed to help people live their best lives.
“We’ve been very intentional to create programs that really target emotional health and well being and to target and give people tools and resources that they can use to combat their stress.”
There is no cost to attend the presentation or the yoga session.
