We continue our top ten sports moments from Knoxville High School from this past school year with #6. The Knoxville Volleyball Squad had big goals for the 2023 season, one was to take back the South Central Conference title, something that had been missing from the Panthers’ trophy case for four years. After an early season win over fellow conference favorite Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont, the Panthers were poised to sweep the conference in a meet on October 10th against Chariuton and rolled over the Chargers 25/12, 25/three, and 25/six to finish at 7-0. Seniors Mackenzie Karr and Katie Deaver told KNIA/KRLS it was great to finally get their conference title after being so close the last two seasons.

Mackenzie: Feels amazing, we haven’t been able to get this title and to have it now it awesome.”

Katie: It was freshman year the last time we were conference champs and it feels amazing to finally get this back.”

The Panthers would finish the season 27-10 and get all the way to the class 4A regional final before bowing out to eventual State Champion North Scott.
