A Pleasantville woman has been charged with attempting to poison her husband.

According to court records, 39-year-old Daisy Zantjer of Pleasantville admitted during an interview that she administered a harmful substance on two occasions to her husband Allan Zantjer in July of 2023. The substance is known as tetrahdrozoline hydrochloride, which is the main ingredient in eye drops and can be fatal if a high dose is ingested.
 
Zantjer is charged with two counts of administering a harmful substance and assault causing bodily injury.
