Counting down the top 10 moments of the 2023-24 school year for Indianola High School with Honorable Mentions that just missed the top 10.
The Indianola girls wrestling program continues to grow, and Siera Becker from Indianola dominated in her freshman season to advance to the State Meet and place 5th. Becker won her first round match, falling in her second round match, then winning four times in consolation including multiple wins over ranked wrestlers. Becker went 27-2 in the regular season.
The Indy Throws boys and girls track and field program, the shot put and discus throwers, had a banner year. The Indians sent Owen Cambron and Aiden Curtis in the discus on the boys side, as well as Ava Tichy and Abbie Kluver on the girls side, all with top 15 finishes. In the shot put, the girls qualified Sam Gripp and Katie Kluver, with Lathan McDaniel and Charlie Radosevich representing the boys, all with top 17 finishes. Eight different Indianola throwers competed at state, all of whom are returning for their future seasons.
