The City of Indianola will be improving traffic signals at the intersection of Buxton and 2nd Ave beginning today. The project will include upgrading the signal system, adding vehicle detection technology, installing new signal heads, and ensuring ADA accessible sidewalks.
The work is expected to be completed in November, weather permitting. During the construction time, lane closures will shift traffic to utilize turn lanes and traffic will still flow through the area. The city asks that all commuters follow traffic signs and instructions in the construction zone, and to be cautious and courteous for the safety of workers and fellow road users.
Minor upgrades will also be installed at the intersection of Hwy 92 and Hwy 65/69.
