We continue our top ten sports moments countdown for Knoxville with the top five this week. #5 gets us kicked off today and for the second straight season on February 13th, Knoxville Bowler Tristan Carter qualified for the State Meet. Carter scored a 657 series with a high game of 269 to finish runner-up at the State Qualifying Meet. At State, Carter would score a 699 series and would advance to the knockout round where he was seeded 7th. He lost his 1st round match, but due to having a high enough series was actually placed 6th in the final standings. Carter told KNIA/KRLS Sports he was happy with how the State Meet turned out.
Carter: “It ended up alright. Pretty proud of making a second year in a row, I think I’m the only individual to do that, I know there’s been some teams to go back-to-back, but I’m happy with it.”
Carter graduated from Knoxville High School this spring and is interested in furthering his bowling career.
