The City of Monroe celebrated Old Settlers over the weekend. Residents and visitors enjoyed a wide range of activities Friday and Saturday with the theme “Christmas in August.” 

Among the activities that took place on Saturday were the car show, the 3-on-3 basketball tournament, the parade, live music by Damon Dotson, and more. The 38th annual Monroe Annual Micro-Marathon was also held Saturday morning. PCM cross country runners Owen Osterhaus and Abi Teeter finished as the overall male and female 5K winners, and Thomas Hiad of Monroe and Jordyn Brown of Ackworth were the overall 10K race winners.

The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio was also in attendance for the event.
