Pella in Pink will be held again this year at the Cordova Park Pavilion at Lake Red Rock.
The event presented by the Pella Regional Health Center Foundation will start at 2 pm on Sunday, October 6th at 1378 Highway G28 and will include a brief program, family-friendly activities for all ages, and a 1.2 mile nature hike around the Karr Trail. The goal of the event is to raise awareness of breast cancer and support patients through expanding breast care programming at Pella Regional.
Pella Regional’s Breast Care Program helps women access essential screening and diagnostic and treatment services close to home. Past support for Pella in Pink has helped offer digital mammography, breast ultrasound, and bone density services. Pella Regional also offers surgical treatment and breast reconstruction under one anesthesia through a partnership with general surgeons and a specialist in plastic surgery.
Pella Regional has grown to offer a high-risk program that now includes screening breast MRIs in addition to the diagnostic MRIs that are already being utilized. Pella Regional also reviews personal and family history to determine eligibility for genetic testing and offers a consultation with their breast specialist to develop a personal plan for risk management. Pella Regional has recently implemented a mastectomy fitting service as part of the program.
Register for Pella in Pink here by September 3. Event shirt pick up will be Thursday, October 3rd from 3:30–5:30 pm at Pella Regional’s Main Entrance (404 Jefferson Street).
