Claiming the number four spot for Pleasantville top sports stories of the 2023-2024 school year is the volleyball team getting the most wins in a season in school history.

The Trojans picked up 27 wins in their 2023 season which breaks the record for most wins in a season in Pleasantville history, a record they also broke in 2022. The 27 win mark is seven more wins in a season than the previous record. The team also broke the school record for aces in a season with 308, assists in a season with 766, kills in a season with 850, and digs in a season with 1,209. The Trojans fell short of the state tournament last season with a loss to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Freemont in a regional semi-finals match. 

Pleasantville only graduated three seniors from last year’s team and will be under new leadership this season as Ammie McGraw takes over as head coach.
