The City of Indianola has been recognized as a Main Street Iowa District by the Iowa Economic Development Authority, as announced Monday evening. City of Indianola Communications Director Aaron Young tells KNIA News this announcement is a big win for Indianola after a month of victories, including hosting RAGBRAI, the Warren County Fair, the National Balloon Classic, and more. Young said this will help Indianola keep momentum moving forward and continue to be a good partner with local businesses.

“From a city perspective, this comes right along with one of our strategic priorities for 2024, of being a thriving hub of economic development and innovation. With this Main Street Iowa Program and this designation, this journey we get to embark on, really helps drive in some key priorities that the City, Indianola Downtown Merchants, Indianola Chamber of Commerce, Warren County Economic Development, all these different community partners and key stakeholders, to drive in how to revitalize and rejuvenate one of our greatest assets, the downtown square.”
