A new community has joined the KNIA/KRLS coverage area, with local news and sports starting today. Newton, a longtime Little Hawkeye Conference rival of four KNIA/KRLS schools, will now be added to the extensive news and sports coverage fold with regular stories and interviews airing on 92.1 KRLS, and live play-by-play of the Cardinals on the KRLS3 stream at KNIAKRLS.com and the KNIA/KRLS Mobile App. News podcasts and interviews will be posted online at KNIAKRLS.com on top of airing in regular news magazines.

Randy Van, a nearly three-decade radio veteran in Newton and Pella High School graduate, is assuming the lead on coverage of all things Newton news and Cardinals sports. KNIA/KRLS is partnering with the Newton Community School District for their video stream, adding to exclusive partnerships with Pella, Pella Christian, and Indianola.
