Another downtown street improvement project is forcing some rerouting two blocks east of the Newton square. City staff says as of Monday, the 200-300 blocks of North 2nd Avenue East, the 100 block of East 2nd Street North, and the 100 block of East 3rd Street North are closed for reconstruction. The City says the four city blocks involved will have new PCC curbs & gutters, as the mainline pavement will be milled and overlaid. Other improvements include storm sewer construction, new sidewalks, and green space improvements. In addition, the 100 block of N 2nd Ave E will receive an HMA mill & overlay. The improvements are projected to be complete by October 15th.
