Norwalk graduate Grace Dehmer has been recognized on the Iowa Girls Coaches Association’s Academic All-State Softball Team for the 2024 season.

To be eligible for Academic All-State honors, student-athletes must be a senior and meet two of the following three criteria: a cumulative GPA of 3.85 or higher; an ACT composite score of 27 or higher, or SAT score of 1200; and a class rank in the top 10 percent for Class 4A schools.

Dehmer was the starting second baseman for the Warriors, who won 30 games this past summer and qualified for a third consecutive trip to the State Softball Tournament. Dehmer batted .293 with four home runs, 28 RBI and a .398 on-base percentage.

Dehmer was a three-sport standout at Norwalk, participating in volleyball, tennis and softball. She will continue her athletic and academic career this fall, playing volleyball at the University of Nebraska Wesleyan in Lincoln.
