Eric Osterhaus is taking over as new PCM Cross Country coach.

Osterhaus will take over for former coach Eric Karr who resigned in the spring. Osterhaus was also the interim girls track and field coach this past spring. Osterhaus is a former distance runner for Simpson College and was an assistant coach for the girls cross country team last season. The new coach will inherit an extremely young roster as there was only one senior on the girls team last season and no seniors on the boys team. Osterhaus tells KNIA/KRLS he is excited for the future of the program and he is going to use the young roster to his advantage.

“I think it’s a big advantage for us. Me being a new coach now we can take those freshman and sophomores and put them in a training program that will help them develop over four years. Hopefully by the time these freshmen and sophomores go through this training program now all of a sudden we are seeing all-conference, all-district, and all-state athletes throughout their four years as we’re able to transition them year after year and watch them grow.”

The PCM cross country teams will kick off their seasons on Tuesday, September 3rd at Williamsburg.
