Pella’s emergency response agencies gathered for training at Madison Elementary earlier this week. Members of Pella Police, Fire, and Ambulance partnered with a program led by Jasper County Emergency Management and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Marion County Emergency Management. The integrated rescue response program brought the agencies together to discuss threats in schools and simulate an emergency. Pella Police Captain Paul Haase says it’s critical to have the right resources in place in case a tragedy were to occur, especially at a school building. The agencies were assisted by alumni of the Citizens Public Safety Academy, who acted as potential victims in the simulation.
