US Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks made stops in Jasper, Marion, and Warren counties on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Representative serving Iowa’s first congressional district met with constituents and voters to give updates from her office, talk about the campaign trail ahead of the November election, speak on legislation she is trying to pass, and made herself available to listen to concerns and answer questions from people in the community. After her stop at The Coffee Connection in Knoxville Wednesday, Miller-Meeks encouraged people to stay engaged in politics and to be informed heading into the November elections.
“It’s been a great stop. I love coming to Marion County and visiting with folks, and most importantly what I want to say to people is that sometimes when the rhetoric gets heated, people withdraw from politics, but it’s very important for people to get engaged and be involved in politics, and get to know the candidates. We have this unique opportunity in Iowa to do that and then I would certainly say to get out and vote.”
Along with her stop in Knoxville, Miller-Meeks was in Newton on Tuesday, and Norwalk on Wednesday. Hear more from Miller-Meeks on today’s Let’s Talk Knoxville.
