The Indianola School Board approved a change in how some educational software will be paid for at their meeting Tuesday, using what was initially a booster club purchase to the curriculum level. Superintendent Tara Paul tells KNIA News what many parents and students know as “platform” ”was purchased by the Indianola Booster Club as a way to help extra curriculars in weightlifting and activities.
“It is now becoming more of a curriculum type app, which our students use in their PE classes. So all we’ve asked, and the board approved, is for that to move from a booster club expense to a district curriculum expense. Generally we don’t do this with outside apps without going through a large process, however because this has been in place and we are just moving the funds from one entity to another, the board was gracious enough to approve that.”
