The reality for the Pella volleyball program has been a change of the guard at leadership. Since the 2019 season, four different coaches have taken the helm at some point, which has been among the most turnover of leadership with the sports programs at Pella High School during that time.

The fifth leader in the last five years has eyes on changing that. New Head Coach Joel Allman is hopeful to build consistency and a lasting legacy for the Dutch. Allman was the head coach at Pleasantville for the previous six fall seasons, leading the team to its best-ever win-loss record in 2023 with 27 victories.

Allman aims to build the foundation this year to a lasting change, while also utilizing an impressive roster of returning talent to compete for a conference championship and state tournament bid in the immediate future.

Pella volleyball opens with a scrimmage on Tuesday, August 20th at home against Knoxville. Fans are encouraged to bring clothing donations for The Well, with JV action beginning at 5:30 and varsity to follow at 7 p.m. at Pella High School.
