The Pleasantville Community School District begins the 2024-2025 school year on August 26th, and will have around thirteen new faculty members joining the district.
Superintendent Tony Aylsworth says that the new staff features a good mix of teachers, associates, and administrative personnel with varying levels of experience. Tony also says that he is excited about the people they’ve hired for the upcoming school year. Aylsworth added that the new legislation focused on teacher minimum compensation has helped the district compete with larger school districts to hire qualified staff.
“It really helps the district like Pleasantville, where we’re sandwiched between some larger school districts. That has made it not only culturally, but also in terms of compensation, so that I think a lot of teachers see this as a really attractive option now that the state has funneled some more money into teacher salaries.”
