A new phase has been entered in the Newton Library Board’s attempt to better serve residents. The Library’s Board of Trustees are creating a new five-year strategic plan. They have been asking people to fill out a short (under ten minute) survey about the library’s services, needs, and community priorities. The Trustees’ goal was to have 500 or more survey responses. But early last week, they announced they were only halfway to that goal. Yesterday was the deadline to complete the survey. The 2025 to 2030 strategic plan developed from the survey responses will guide how the library board focuses its funding and efforts to meet the needs of residents and the community as a whole. The Newton Library Board claims around 900 people come into the library weekly.
