The fifth annual Your Life Matters 5K run/walk will be held September 14th in Knoxville.

Your Life Matters is an organization that raises funds for mental health awareness in the community with a focus on children and schools. The event will begin at 8:00 am on the 14th and start and finish at Knoxville High School, and is a way to further spread awareness for the importance of mental health and suicide prevention in Knoxville. There are medals for the top three places in each age division and a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Those who register by August 28th will also receive a t-shirt. Ashley Kline with Your Life Matters says this event is a great way to get together as a community to raise awareness.

“We come together a lot in this community, but not necessarily in this fashion. That’s the goal. To just get everyone in one place for the same cause. Of course this is a fundraiser for our group. We use those funds in our overarching goal as far as the funds we take from this is to give back to the community, specifically the schools.”
