With a new coach, there are a lot of new things to learn. How that coach thinks, reacts to things, and most importantly, what kind of offense and defense will be utilized on the field. New Twin Cedars Coach Mark Ford, who was an assistant last year under former coach Cam Parker is bringing his own style to the Sabers. He says Twin Cedars will try to utilize its speed and run a lot of quick plays, but also use ball control. Ford tells KNIA/KRLS Sports it is important to keep the ball for long possessions.

Ford: “My goal this year is four yards a carry, as long as we get 4 yards we get a first down. We’re going to try to use ball control, if the other doesn’t have the ball, they can’t score, we’re going to run out of different defensive formations, and we’re going to run out of different offensive formations.”

Ford adds he will be content winning a game 14-12 and wants to win the possession battle every game. Twin Cedars will travel to Colo-NESCO this Friday for a week zero game.
