The Indianola football team will have multiple offensive contributors returning for this season, however none bigger than incoming senior running back Jake Pontier. Pontier rushed for nearly 1,100 yards last season scoring nine touchdowns, and will feature heavily into this year’s offensive scheme. Head coach Eric Kluver tells KNIA Sports Pontier’s ability to just keep pushing forward is a huge asset.

“Jake’s an outstanding running back. We’ve talked about this many times, but his determination to not go down is his strength. He’s not a really big back, he’s not overly fast, but he has great vision, he leans forward, and he’s gonna fight for extra yards. So he needs to be a big part of our offense as we go into the new season.”

The Indians also feature returning offensive lineman including Lathan McDaniel, Jeremy Rosenberger, Carson Slorah, and Charlie Radosevich among others to lead the charge in the ground game.
