The Marion County Road Department has provided an update on the reconstruction of the Flagler Bridge at County Road T15. Construction is progressing with pavement removal and earthwork to complete the road raise and reprofiling of the road to match the new bridge elevation. The road department says that next steps include reinforcing concrete approaches, the bridge rail, the approach guardrail, asphalt pavement, and final grading and seeding. Earthwork is anticipated to wrap up toward the end of next week or beginning of September. Concrete approaches and rail occurring are expected to start in September with final items completed for road reopening in October, all weather permitting.
