For the second consecutive season, the Pella football team opens with an opponent for a scrimmage before week one next week.

After only holding intrasquad competition until last fall, the Dutch welcome Class 2A perennial power PCM to Central College on Friday evening.

Head Coach Jay McKinstrey says last year, they learned a lot about their squad against the Mustangs, and he’s hopeful to get more development out of the contest this week.

“We’re excited, it was neat for us to get to play against PCM last year, and it was neat that Coach [Greg] Bonnett called us in the previous winter and they wanted to get a scrimmage in at all the different levels,” he said.
