Newton football fans will get their first look at all three high school football teams tonight. The annual Gatorade scrimmage will be against Pella Christian. Due to the ongoing installation of new field lights at H.A. Lynn Stadium, the start time for today was changed so the scrimmage can be completed before dark. NHS Athletic and Activities Director Ryan Rump says the Freshman scrimmage will begin at 4 p.m. and the Junior Varsity at 5pm.. All fall teams will be recognized at 6 p.m.. The varsity scrimmage will follow that. Admission is free, but Rump says a donation is requested.

“We do ask that you bring a sports drink donation. You can bring an 8-pack, 6-pack, or just one or two bottles. Whatever you can find or afford to bring. We divy that out to all our fall teams so they have Gatorade, Powerade, or some sports drink to use throughout the fall seasons.”
