A 65-year-old Newton man has been charged with extortion. Newton Police arrested Garry Lynn Stoner Monday night after a victim came to the Police Department. In the criminal complaint, police say the victim had text messages from Stoner. In those messages, Stoner allegedly threatens to sell nude photos of the woman if she doesn’t have sex with him one more time. Police claim he also sent one of the photos to the victim. Extortion is a Class D Felony. Court records show Stoner posted a $5,000 bond the day after he was arrested. His next court appearance is set for September 10th.
