Newton football fans got their first look at all the NHS football teams last night during the annual Gatorade Scrimmage. Pella Christian was the opponent. It was the first chance fans got to see Caden Klein at Quarterback. Last year, he earned 1st Team All District Honors at outside linebacker with 55 solo tackles and 60.5 overall. Newton Coach Andy Swedenhjelm thinks he’ll make a great quarterback as well.

“Super competitive kid who has a lot of accolades and post season success, especially on the track. Great athlete who runs very well and makes good decisions. One of the things I love about him is he is always composed and doesn’t get rattled. That’s exactly what you need in a quarterback. He’s going to have a great year.”
