The Knoxville Community School district will welcome students back to the classroom on Monday.

School starts at 7:55 this morning and for the first two days school will dismiss at 1:25 pm for all students K-12. This year, the district is welcoming in twelve new teachers and one new principal. The district also has brand new playground equipment at West Elementary that was installed over the summer and the Randy Wilson Track Improvement Project is complete. Superintendent Cassi Pearson says she loves the energy of the first day of school.

“Whether you’re a parent, a student, a teacher, a staff member, a superintendent, or an administrator, this really is what we’ve been waiting for all summer. You can plan and prepare, but getting kids here, there is no other feeling like the energy of the first day of school. It’s fantastic.”
