The Pella School Board is holding a public hearing Monday to consider a five-year extension of the instructional support program. If approved, the extension would maintain funding from a portion of the property tax levy that primarily supports the general fund, which primarily pays for teacher salaries and educational programming. The board will also receive a construction update and receive a presentation from Classroom Clinic about a proposal to support student mental health. Resolutions on the agenda include a bid to resurface and paint the track, a policy change related to student promotion, release of contract retainage for Winger Corporation and Rapids, and facility agreements with Cardinal Lanes and Queue for bowling and e-sports respectively. The board will also look to continue an agreement with Eunoia Counseling for additional student support. The Pella School Board meeting begins at 5:30 Monday evening in the Pella High School library.
