Every month, up to 200 low income Jasper County residents 60 or older will keep receiving food packages. On Tuesday, the Jasper County Board of Supervisors extended the Memorandum of Understanding with Polk County for Supplemental Food Program Services. The food distribution has been extended through September 2027. The cost of each food package will increase from $5.00 to $6.00 in fiscal years 2026 and 2027. Jasper County covers that cost, and will also pay for a minimum of 100 food boxes per month, regardless of how many food packages are actually distributed.
