The Knoxville Cross Country Squads will hope to get the season underway today at the Albia Invitational. The Panthers Monday meet at Pine Knolls was canceled due to the heat. Today, temperatures should be better for running and the Panthers will see various teams from around the area. Boys Coach Michael Splavec tells KNIA/KRLS Sports his team is ready to run against other uniforms.

Splavec: “We’re already getting tired of running against each other. You get that uniform on for the first time and get that feeling of being a competitor rather than just practice and going for a run.”

First races are scheduled to begin at 5:30.
